Many variations of the Stirling Engine have
been created, generally speaking there are three. The alpha,
beta, and gamma, this site focuses on the beta due to its simple
design, the other two, though not complicated, have two
cylinders and an additional feature: a regenerator. The
regenerator is a part of the system that allows the working
fluid to store its heat far a later part of the cycle, so as not
to waste as much of it when when in the sink.
