Why This Topic?

I chose this topic because I am interested in atmospheric science and Fairbanks, Alaska has so many interesting topics within that realm. When I was in high school, I did a research project on thermal inversion in Fairbanks, Alaska and how it impacted pollution. Air pollution is an issue Fairbanksans can fix through certain regulations, but thermal inversion is something that is out of our hands, but plays a significant role in trapping the pollution in the valley of Fairbanks.
