McPherson Physics 211, Fall 2013 Plasma is not something that is
really defined in everyday life. In grade school, it's
briefly mentioned as a mysterious "fourth state of
matter," maybe even going as far as to say it was
something in between a solid and a liquid, but then in
the next breath, teachers are talking about blood
plasma.
(Not shown here: the plasma I want to talk about) (http://pixabay.com/en/blood-blood-plasma-red-blood-cells-75302/) That's not exactly what plasma is. So, if our blood is not some sort of super awesome, gel-like, mystery substance that's running through our bodies, then what exactly is plasma? You could Google it, but I'd recommend clicking that lovely little next button at the bottom of the page to find out. |
