How will the Sun end its final days. Some stars go out with a band, like in the picture above. This is called
a nova or when it happens to a larger star a super nova.

Our Sun will first expand after much of the hydrogen is gone into a Red Giant. At this point the Sun's diameter will reach beyond where Earth
orbits it. After that stage it will shrink down in into a super hot star called a White Dwarf. This will be the last stage of the Sun. When it can no longer
support the fusion process that keeps it burning, the Sun will turn into a brown dwarf and die.
