The Lunar Module
The Lunar module was the vehicle designed to land on moon.
It was big enough to hold two of the three astronauts on the mission.
The module has 2 parts.  The bottom was basically a detachable from
which the craft could land on then leave when the mission
was over.

The bottom also contained gear that the 2 crew would need to work on the moon.
The top was the crew's quarters and living area.
The top also detached from the bottom to lift off the lunar
surface and redock with the Service and Command
Modules in orbit that contained the 3rd crew member.
