"For all physicists know, dragons could have come flying out of the singularity" ~Niayesh Afshordi~ Perimeter Institute Associate Faculty Member
Imagine an unfathomably hot and dense phenomenon of spacetime where the standards of physics break down. This phenomenon exists in the inner region of a black hole and is referred to as a point of singularity. At the point of singularity, it is impossible to predict physical behavior. This opens up the possibility that after singularity, the forces that we study such as gravity and electromagnetism, may not exist. If one of these forces were nonexistent or altered within our universe, we would not exist in our current form. This is where the idea of a multiverse comes into play.
