The Issue
As of 2014, 90% of American adults will own a cell phone[3]. The rapid and widespread proliferation of mobile communication has raised significant concerns over the adverse effect of the electro-magnetic radiation generated by these devices.
In addition to examining the physics and biological aspects of cell phone radiation, this site will also provide information regarding ways to limit exposure and overview of research to date. |
Although many will argue that the detrimental effects of mobile device radiation are far from proven, the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer(IARC) classified mobile phones as "Group 2B" EMF's, and are such "possibly carcinogenic to humans"[4].
It is imperative that further research be conducted to investigate the potential ramifications of mobile device use as these products continue to become increasingly integrated worldwide. |
