The Physics Behind a Ground Source Heat Exchange System

Ground source heat exchange systems are a basic application of the Second Law of Thermodynamics.  To understand how such a system works, I'll provide a brief explanation of the Second Law of Thermodynamics; an overview of the system; a explanation of the efficiency of such a system and how it is determined; and a few examples of ground source heat exchange systems.
