Space-Time and the Theory of Relativity
Scientific Pursuit and Knowledge: A Reflection
The science behind physics is what we observe to be true, and that might work in most circumstances. However, lots of physics is hidden by a veil of obscurity, as we cannot directly understand it. We, as humans, tend to reject what we cannot comprehend and chalk it up to being nonsense, even if a very real scientific basis is present. The psychological barrier, then, in this case, is the breaking from the observational norm, deviating to the science of the partially theoretical. Even then, there are plenty of scientific barriers that are broken during the time of relativity, just as a result of the stubbornness of humans to change what they already believe to be true. Assumptions must be shed in the pursuit of knowledge, as knowing when to admit you’re wrong or don’t understand something is the first step to comprehending the incomprehensible.
