Physiology
In the center of the chest is a fist-sized organ called the heart which pumps blood. It has 4 chambers:
The Right and Left Atrium which are in the upper part and are resposible for collecting blood
The Right and Left ventricles which are in the lower part and are responsible for pumping out blood
There are also 4 valves which all make sure the blood is flowing in one direction
