Frolf, also
known as Frisbee Golf or Disc Golf, is one of the fastest
growing recreational sports in the U.S. Why is this? Simply because
it is: inexpensive, relatively simple for beginners and a great
way to connect with friends and family in the natural outdoor
courses.
Frolf is
very much like regular golf with the exchange of golf balls and
clubs with discs and exchanging holes in the ground
with baskets ready to catch the flying disc out of the air.
Score can be kept with the same score keeping as in Golf; points
are added for each throw and the player with the least point in
the end wins.
Ed Headrick was working at Wham-O toys
in the late 60’s when he first came up with various disc designs
that would perform faster and more precise in the air. Frolf
arose in the U.S. in the 60’s around various campuses and parks.
