If you ever find yourself in the situation where you must place a winning bet
on a unicorn race to save your life, you'll be glad that you came here first.

For this race a western unicorn and an eastern unicorn or kirin will go around a 100 meter track.

Western unicorns are horse-like. Quarter horses have an average velocity of 47.5 mph or 21.23 m/s. Kirin are more deer-like.
White-tailed deer have an average 30 mph or 13.4 m/s.
It may seem obvious which will win, but just to be sure wait for the calculations:
t(ime)=d(istance)/v(elocity) West: t=(100m)/(21.23m/s)= 4.71s
      East: t=(100m)/(13.41m/s)= 7.46s                      (Obviously I would bet your life
            on the western unicorn.)

The Kinetic Energy would be the opposite however so keep that in mind if they decide to give you another chance to die.
      KE=(1/2)m(ass)v(elocity)^2
            The average mass of a quarter horse is 495 kg
                     KE=(1/2)(495kg)(21.23m/s)^2= 111551.4 J(oules)
            The average mass of a white-tailed deer is 91.35 kg
                     KE=(1/2)(91.35kg)(13.41m/s)^2= 8213.7 J
The western unicorn uses far more energy to win the race than the kirin does to lose. The lowest time has the highest kinetic
energy and the higher time is the lowest kinetic energy.
