Stephen Hawking

Introduction
Stephen Hawking is known as
one of the most intelligent theoretical physicists of all
time. Hawking writes about the origin and structure of the
universe as well as the Big Bang and black holes. Stephen
Hawking was born in Oxford, England, on January 8, 1942.
Stephen Hawking is the oldest child of Frank and Isobel
Hawking. Hawking was born into an intelligent family. His
mother went to Oxford University. This was during a time
when not that many women were able to go to college.
Hawking’s father was an Oxford graduate and was a medical
researcher who specialized in tropical diseases. Hawking’s
father wanted him to go into medicine, but starting at a
young age Hawking “showed a passion for science and the
sky.”
