"Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's SUPERMAN!"

Superman has been probably the most iconic character for DC Comics. Superman, or Kal-El, originated from the planet Krypton and was sent to Earth in a capsule as a baby when his planet imploded. His was discovered by a farmer and his wife known as the Kents. The Kent family raised Kal-El in the city of Smallville. Eventually Kal-El grew up to become Superman.

Superman is by far one of my favorite DC Comic characters, he fights for peace, justice, and hope. He works secretly as Clark Kent, a reporter for the Daily Planet in the city of Metropolis. Then dashes out to save his love interest Lois Lane whenever she is in trouble or the city needs saving.

Superman, known for many as the Man Of Steel, has many superpowers. He has freeze breath which can blow hard and extinguish burning buildings, he can stop bullets with his chest,
pick up vehicles and throw them great distances, and one of my favorites lasers that blast from his eyes!

Not only does he have all those powers, but he is also one of the founders of the Justice League, which is the single greatest collection of superheros to defend Earth from all that is evil and unjust.

Although he has many powers and social aspects that I'd love to explore, I will be talking about a couple aspects of his powers. Could Superman really punch a man into space? And could Superman really make time go backwards?

Could Superman Really Punch A Man Into Space?

Superman is always seen punching his enemies through buildings, into vehicles, and across great distances. He even punches the real evil ones into space. But could the mighty Man Of Steel really punch someone into space? Well the answer is complicated. So below are my calculations to either prove or disprove this speculation.

As I just proved, Superman couldn't punch someone into space. However, there could be a chance that he could if there was an alien or some kind of life form had an extremely durable body structure unlike anything we've ever seen as a species before. And in that case, I think we would need a Superman!

Could Superman Really Reverse Time And Save Lois Lane?

Superman at one point flew around the Earth reversed its spin effectively traveling back in time. One thing is for certain, reversing the rotation of the Earth wont make time go backwards, but could traveling really fast? Even the speed of light? Lets first prove that moving fractions the speed of light does indeed slow down time. I have done this simple calculation, a derivative of the time dilation formula.

This states that indeed time slows down as you move faster. However the equation itself does not allow for time to be negative. In fact, you cannot travel faster than the speed of light.
