Work

Work is the mechanical process that changes a system's energy as a force displaces an object (Knight, 2016). It is the transfer of energy between the system and environment. We can find work by taking the integral of the force and the change in position.

Power

"Power is the rate at which energy is transferred or transformed" (Knight, 2016). In other words, it is the rate of doing work. We can take the derivative or find the rate of change of work to calculate power.
