Pros & Cons
This is a list of some of the advantages and disadvantages of maglev trains

Advantages:
  1.  Maglevs don't have moving parts as do conventional trains so wear and tear is minimal. So the maintenance cost is significantly less.
  2. There is no contact between train and track, so the only resistance is air resistance which does not inhibit the maglev from reaching very high speeds.
  3. Since they don't have wheels there is very little noise from a maglev
  4. Maglevs do not rely on internal combustion engines so they are more eco friendly.
  5. They are much much much less likely to be derailed by the smallest thing.

Disadvantages:

  1. The cost to implement maglev trains is very high
  2. Either conventional train tracks need to be replaced with maglev guideways, or a whole new system has to be created
