Industrial Processing

For most of the manufacturing process, parts are cut out from blank sheet metal. If larger materials are required with a larger thickness, t, different methods are used. The cutting force F, must exceed the strength of the material. With this, the normal force of the die must be able to accommodate the force of the punch so that the die doesn't deform in the shearing process as well.
