               What do supernovae do?

Supernova as it turns out are important parts of the creation of our world and others throughout the universe. When a supernova begins, there are forces from inside the star thanks to its internal reactions and the gravitational forces outside which slowly overpower that of the reactions forces. The forces acting on the core become so great on all sides it is compressed and becomes mostly iron, at this point it becomes a nuclear bomb exerting so much pressure and energy some of the iron core is turned into elements such as Gold, Lead, and Nickle. The elements are then blasted outwards by the explosion having no other counteracting forces at millions of meters per second.
