Drag
Drag is defined as "a mechanical force. It is generated by the interaction and contact of a solid body with a fluid (liquid or gas)."-Nasa.gov
During a soccer game, drag occurs when the ball is kicked and when it travels through air and the when air push back causing it to slow down. Drag causes soccer balls to not travel in a perfect parabola. According to soccermaniak.com "Drag can be dramatically decreased by kicking the soccer ball with a spin and once the ball starts spinning it causes magnus effect which decreases air resistance drastically."

As we can see in the image by NASA, a soccer
ball can travel smooth through air or rough,
causing a change in the drag coefficient. Drag
in soccer is a big factor in some cities where it is
windy, changing the direction of the ball when it is in the air. It is really important that a soccer player knows the effect of drag in a ball ,so , they can change their technique of play.

Friction
Force is the parallel and opposite force whenever a soccer ball
is kicked causing the ball to stop when it is in the grass.
Friction occurs because electromagnetic forces between the ball
and the grass resist the motion of each other causing the ball to
slow down and transform the kinetic energy into heat.
