Newton's third law is: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. The statement means that in every interaction, there is a pair of forces acting on the two interacting objects. The size of the forces on the first object equals the size of the force on the second object. It is because object have different inertia that everything doesn't not accelerate at the same rate. Only the arrow was left in my hand after trying to use a bow to launch it, it does not make sense the bow and I are in the same system, so the acceleration experienced by the bow should be the same for me.
