Today I encountered a strange phenomena in the cartoon world. I was chasing the roadrunner up a mountain and we got to the top. I wasn’t watching where I was going because I was so focused on catching the roadrunner and I ran off the edge of the cliff. Now back in the real world I would have fallen instantly with an accelerations equal to g (9.8 m/s2). For me to keep running on the air my net force in the y direction would have to be zero. The force down on me is Fy = ma which is (9.8*(my mass in kg)N. Since there is no force acting up on me equal to that, I expected to fall. This world is weird!
