CTD : PART 2

There are two types of coiled tube drilling: directional and non-directional.  Just as assumed, non-directional wells are much like the conventional method but use a downhole motor.  The cool thing about CTD is the fact that it allows directional drilling of wells!  This is so amazing!  This kind of application uses devices in the bottomhole assembly to control where the path will go.  This is extremely useful in wells that have already been drilled, because it allows for sidetracks off an existing wellbore into new reservoirs with the use of steering tools.  No need to drill an entire new well!  This is the most efficient and economic technique in the hydrocarbon recovery.
