MWNTs constructed of concentric tubes have shown an interesting telescoping property such that an inner tube can slide within the outer tube and, in doing so, create such infinitesimally small friction as to be negligible. As such, they are atomically perfect bearings for linear and rotational motion. This aspect has already been used in the creation of a nano-scale rotational motor.
