The Power Clean is not
an easy lift to perform. It involves
many motions and proper technique to
make the lift effective. The power
clean is a demonstration of
coordination and maximal power output
of a lifter. It is used to increase
the amount of power an athlete can
produce with their legs as well as
helping build muscle in the rest of
the body. Power cleans help develop
explosiveness in the legs, working the
glutes, hamstrings, quads, and calves.
It also helps develop general strength
in an athletes core, back, and
shoulders. Once the technique is
mastered, a lifter can start adding
weight to increase their power output.
