Jumperoo™ Analysis

I found k for these springs through use of Newton’s second law and the conservation of energy and with the help of the people who were kind enough to provide safety ratings for this product. With the change in position of the spring from its natural position large amounts of energy can be stored and then released. The force in this system acts against the force of gravity, and eases the user in jumping to new heights. I decided that the springs used in the Jumperoo™ are well within the limits for the application of Hooke’s law. The resultant vector formed by the three springs illustrates the restorative forces that Hooke originally found a few centuries ago.

The springs translate my daughter’s weight into potential energy that she can use to have the floor push against her, assisting her jump height, maximizing her fun. Here is what this looks like.

The wonders of potential energy translated into kinetic energy are fun for everyday life. I wish they had this thing in adult size.

Thanks for reading!
