Skylights are wonderful things, and though they're becoming more widely used now in modern times, some version of them has been around since ancient times.

Skylights are marvelous for the amount of natural daylight they allow into buildings, and though there are some challenges involved with having skylights in homes and other places, they have enough potential that attention is being given toward skylight innovations. They're becoming more widely used not only in homes but also in grocery stores, airports, libraries, and even warehouses.
