The Physics of
Coffee
- It is thought that the coffee plant in seed phase will
thrive better in the shade and not in the sun.
- But if grown in the shade they perish when they are transplanted
into the field.
- This was causing huge problems for the nurseries that supply the
seedling to the coffee farmers. The seedlings exposed to sun have far
less issues once they are transplanted in to the field.
- Due to the costs of having to replace ruined plants and the time
spent replanting new ones nurseries have stopped using shaded area's to
start the seedlings off.
