History of Basketball

Basketball First Created (1891)

Basketball was created in 1891 by a man named James Naismith. Naismith while attending YMCA training school in Springfield, Massachuseets, had to find a sport that was playable inside during the cold winter months. He thought that it would be a good idea to create a game that had to deal a lot more with skill rather then just brute strength. Another thing that he had to make sure of was that it could be played inside in a relatively small area. This is when he thought of creating the game of basketball.
