- Popular to contrary belief, Newton was never actually hit in the head with an apple making him think of the Law of Universal Gravitation.

- In 1690, Newton had a nervous breakdown from years of working long hours and enduring too much stress.
- In 1703, Newton Became the first person to receive a knighthood for a scientific achievement.
- When Newton first entered College, he had the intentions of becoming a minister.
- Newton was the first person to understand the rainbow, and he proved that while light was made up of colors mixed together, and a prism could be used to separate them.
- Newton made the reflection telescope much smaller (see picture below), and still today the most powerful telescopes continue to use reflecting dishes according to Newton 's principle.
- Newton was born on Christmas Day,1642, the same year the Gallileo died.
- Newton died in 1727, at the age of 84. He was buried in Westminster Abbey.
