PHYSICS OF NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING

ultrasonic testing
Ultrasonic
testing uses high frequency sound waves that penetrate
materials to examine them for imperfections. If there is
an imperfection the sound wave is disrupted and returns
to the devices sooner than if it went all the way
through the material. This method is useful in detecting
discontinuities deeper in the material.
