Boundary and Potential energy diagram

Picture
We begin by producing an energy diagram to model or situation. With this interpretation of our case we can know establish our boundary conditions by definition plus one auxiliary condition.(text)

    1.     Ψ(x) is a continuous function.

    2.     Ψ(x) = 0 if x is in a region where it is physically impossible for the particle to be.

    3.     Ψ(x) → 0 as x → +∞ and x → -∞.

    4.     Ψ(x) is a normalized function (auxiliary condition).

All of these conditions are met by our interpretation in our model so we may continue.
