There are different mechanism purposed to explain
the radial transport phenomenon. Some of them are listed below.
- Outward transport of magnetic field
stretches the magnetic field from inner to outer magnetosphere
and leads to the magnetic reconneciton called Vasyliunas
reconnection (vasyliunas 1983).
- Patchy type reconnection occurs in
subsolar and dusk sector, releasing the plasma in small-scale
plasmoids down the dusk flank (Delamere et at., 2015).
- Double magnetic reconnection (Ma. et.
al., 2017) due to the Raleigh-Taylor instability.
