Capacitors
How do capacitors work?
So, capacitors are pretty important to the technology that is the capacitive touch screen, how is It they work? A capacitor in a DC circuit is used useful for storing a charge temporarily and then releasing it later on. Capacitors deal with something call transient conditions; this basically has to do with a change in circuits response over time. The amount of charge in a capacitor is equal to C (capacitance) * V (voltage). For the capacitors in your phones touch screen to get that charge you hook a battery up in series. This allows the current to flow from the battery to the capacitors, until the battery is equal to the voltage. With the figure above you can see that there is a bunch of capacitors in series with one another, each capacitor if they are the same, they will get the same amount of voltage across the grid. This is because the line of capacitors are parallel with one another and when in parallel voltage stays the same.
