BASICS: What is milling?

Milling is the process of
taking away material from or shaping a block in the
creation of a desired end product. This is
accomplished by either rotating the material against
a bit or rotating a bit against the material. Physics is present throughout the entire milling process. From the operator pulling levers and cranking wheels to move the machine to the thermal conductivity of the drill bit and material being milled. |
