The Nalgene water bottle is arguably the
most popular water container ever made. Some may speculate why
this is; perhaps because of their simple design, or variety of
colors, or the plastic loop that holds the lid on. These
features all play into the popularity of these bottles, but
perhaps the most defining aspect is their resistance to any
type of force. The forces of nature and humans are never too
much for a Nalgene water bottle.
The purpose of this website is to analyze
what a Nalgene can withstand by looking at three different
scenarios and calculating the forces present and if the bottle
with stay in one piece.
