Pulsed plasma drives are perhaps the most
powerful and efficient drives we could build
today, though they have not been used over
safety and environmental concerns. First
conceptualized in the 60s, pulsed plasma drives
have still yet to be widely used for various concerns.
The way such a drive works is you have a
spacecraft on one side of a massive steel plate, and
on the other side nuclear warheads are released
periodically for thrust. While the potential here
is greater than any other currently possible method of
propulsion, it has for obvious purposes not been used.
