Velocity is the speed of an object in a given direction.
Velocity is a vector quantity; it has both a direction and
magnitude.

Acceleration is the rate of change in velocity. If an
objects velocity changes then it has acceleration, if the
velocity is constant then there is no acceleration.
Acceleration is also a vector quantity.
