THe true inventor of the radio
It seems Nikola Tesla's life was a constant battle to unveil his work to the world, sometimes people even claimed his work as their own. This is apparent in Guglielmo Marconi's work on developing the first radio. Marconi had been successful in transmitting radio waves, but his technology only allowed the waves to be transmitted short distances. Marconi needed some way to make the radio waves stronger. This is where Nikola Tesla's patents worked there way into Marconi's work. The Tesla coil could resonate with the radio wave and amplify it to travel much farther. Marconi first used Tesla's patent in his test of radio waves across the english channel. Marconi even reported that he used a Tesla transmitter to make the waves travel farther. At first, Nikola Tesla didn't care that Marconi was using 17 of his patents, but when Marconi won a Nobel Piece Prize, in 1909, Tesla became furious. Tesla then took Marconi to The Supreme Court, which ruled in favor of Marconi. Many historians speculate that Marconi only won the court case because of who his investors were since there is very little evidence that shows He should have won the case. It was only until after Tesla's death that the patent was awarded to Nikola Tesla. Sadly it was for dishonest reasons, which included the use of Marconi's patent. The military used the radio patent to make there own radios and didn't pay Marconi, so the government took the patent from Marconi and awarded it to Tesla. Knowing that Tesla was already dead he could not sue for payment.
