Welcome to The CMB

4.19.14

This website is designed to help explain what the Cosmic Microwave Background is, what attributes we currently know about it, who discovered these attributes and how, and finally what these attributes mean in relation to us and the universe. All of the content will strive to be easily understood and not require a PhD in Physics to grasp the concepts.

First, a little bit about me and why I am making this website. I am creating this site to help get information on the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) more easily available. I am a college undergrad doing research for a web project. This page will discuss the different characteristics of the Universe that the CMB has helped prove through observation.

Note About Sources

04.19.14

Due to my inability to fully grasp and understand this subject, it will take me a lot of cross referencing and link jumping to help define each term used in the more complicated concepts. This means that it will be almost impossible to keep up the direct sources for each part of the text. I will, however, include all of the links to each source that I use to explain different phenomena. The one exception to this is the Conformal Cyclic Cosmology summary, in which I will mostly use my notes from a lecture I attended given by Roger Penrose's friend, Ezra Newman. ALL OF THE INFORMATION ON THIS WEBSITE IS NOT MINE. I AM SIMPLY ATTEMPTING TO SUMMARIZE AND SIMPLIFY OTHER PEOPLES' PUBLISHED WORKS.
