Iaido, a Japanese martial art, which began in the mid-1500s, focuses on drawing a sword, responding to an attack and re-sheathing. Still practiced in modern times, the laws of physics are visible throughout the movements in Iaido. This website is designed to introduce Iaido and some of the physics behind the art.
