How To Drift
Drifting is ideal with a rear wheel vehicle. According
to driftsession.com, drifting is defined as "Exceeding
your tires' limits of adhesion, exhibiting a lateral
slip, resulting in an oversteered condition." This means
the tires are pushed to where they do not have enough
traction to maintain grip on the road and consequently
the vehicle travels towards a different direction than
it is facing, but was previously facing. This can be
done by using large amounts of horsepower, hitting a
corner with a sharp degree, having too much speed
entering a corner, or driving with slippery road
conditions. I'll break down the techniques used to control drift as
follows.
Clutch |
Come
into corner, brake, disengage clutch, throttle, engage clutch, play with throttle. |
E-Brake |
Slow
into corner, disengage clutch, emergency brake, engage clutch, play with throttle. |
Power
(Power Slide) |
Fast
into corner, turn hard, kick out the rear, play with throttle |
Feint
(Scandinavian Flick) |
Come
into corner, turn away from corner, flick car into corner, play with throttle. |
