While there are some direct flights into Fairbanks from Seattle (Alaska Airline), Chicago (Alaska Airline) and Minneapolis (Northwest Airline - seasonal) most of the flights come through Anchorage. Therefore one possible routing is to fly to Anchorage and then travel on to Fairbanks.

Airlines Fairbanks is served by Alaska Airlines, Delta Airlines and Northwest Airlines. Alaska Airlines has about 9 flights daily into Fairbanks (most through Anchorage). Direct flights from Europe: An Airline called Condor Airline (related to or partners with Lufthansa) runs flights from Frankfurt to Anchorage and Fairbanks in the summer. I am not sure what their definition of summer is so if you are interested please check with them. I have also been told that SAS will be doing something similar but have found out no information on this. |

A bit more than half way through the trip the train stops in Denali National Park. The total trip takes approximately 12 hours and is very scenic if the weather is good. |
