Refraction 3

In this lab we will shine a laser from air into water. Then we will make some measurements to determine the index of refraction of water.

The index of refraction of a material tells us how fast light moves in that material. We use the letter n to stand for index of refraction. The formula is:

In the equation above, c is the speed of light in a vacuum and v is the speed of light in some material (water in our case).

Will the index of refraction of water (n_water) be:

b) less than 1
