Siphoning from a fermenting carboy to a clarifying carboy, and from the
clarifying carboy to a bottling bucket is part of the process of
home-brewing. The movement of the fluid into other containers is caused
by using a pressure difference to initiate the flow. This flow can be
explained by Toricelli's Law, and by using Bernoulli's Principle.
This video details the relationship between Bernoulli's Principle and
Toricelli's Law when siphoning is used to move a liquid from a higher
elevation to a lower elevation.
