Introduction

Death is most often thought of in metaphysical terms - as that which undoes the very thing which allows us to contemplate its enigma. But in addition to operating on our essence, death is also a physical process - one that transforms mortal flesh and bone, and disassembles the systems housed therein which are unique to the living. Thus, for your pleasure, we present a few morsels of its physical mechanism, the physics of death. Enjoy.
