Mines excavate a lot of material from the ground. This material
must be transported through a haulage system. The includes different
equipment to do the job. Difference have certain limitations as to what
they can do. There is also different availability for some systems.
Some are more cost efficient than others. Cost of capital investment
and maintainance also differs between haulage methods. Some of the
equipment has limitations of where it can be used.
Another factor for selecting a haulage system is the type of haulage is
access to ore deposit. There are several layouts and combinations of
layouts that are used in mines. The layout of the mine depends on the
deposit size, depth, mineral value, rock strengh, etc.
