When I look in the mirror I prefer to see my entire image. Knowing if I have toilet paper on my shoe or a cow lick in my hair is important; therefore, I need to know how long the mirror needs to be in order to see all of me.

Determining The Length Needed for The mirror

I don't look like a foot ball player, but the second image accurately depicts the lenght of the mirror needed to see my entire body. In order to see all of myself in the mirror its length must be half my height; therefore, my mirror needs to be 2' 7".

Flat Mirror Information

  • Law of Reflection -the angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection.
  • Your image is the exact same distance behind the mirror as you are away from it.
  • It is impossible to see your entire body in a mirror that is less than half of your height.
