Conservation
of Energy
It should come as no suprise that even body has
conservation of energy. Since energy is always conserved
this is kinda a given.
However, it may
not be so apparent in all the ways that this happens, so thus this
page is being written.
The Law of
Conservation of Energy states that energy can change form, such as
chemical energy to kinetic energy, but energy
can neither be
created nor destroyed. The body has several ways of
converting energy. From transfering the potential energy
from food in to
chemical energy on the molecular level, our bodies then change
that energy in to kinetic energy when we move.
This in turn is
transfered into heat. Our blood never stops moving and our
hearts never stop beating so there is always some
energy being used
and converted in one form to another.
While our bodies
may be making heat by the transfer of energy, we may very easily
become to hot. Our bodies also have ways of
keeping us cool
and at the ideal 98.6 degrees that is required for our normal body
function. To transfer this energy we use, radiation,
conduction and convection. The body uses many neuralogical
pathways to keep its temperature regulated however, that is also
something
that I will not be discussing here.
