Where They Form
-
There are 5
different layers in the earths Atmosphere:
-

The lowest atmospheric layer is
the Troposphere, its more than 10 miles deep and
contain all of the Earths weather systems.
- The
Stratosphere layer is home to the planets
shield of ozone, this layer absorbs the
harmful ultraviolet radiation produced from
the sun. Blue Jets occur in the
Stratosphere during thunder storms and
have also been reported to occur during
hail storms. Thirty
miles up is the next layer called the
Mesosphere.
- The
Mesosphere layer is where Red Sprites
can be seen shooting up and downwards during
lightning storms. This layer is also
where incoming
metorites burn up and produce a tail when they
shoot across the sky.
- The
Thermosphere layer is where the aurora lights
are formed.
- The last
layer is the Exosphere, this is the layer
that gradually falls into space.
