Winter Driving Scenario

Imagine two cars driving down the road in the winter of Alaska. As the cars approach a stop sign, both drivers apply the brakes, attempting to stop before the sign. One car is equipped with traditional brakes, and upon applying the brakes, the hubs lock and keep the tires from revolving, and the driver looses control of the vehicle as it spins out of control.

The second car has anti-lock brakes. When the driver applies the brakes, the hubs make bit of racket and the driver feels the brake pedal pulsing. This driver remains in control of the vehicle the whole time and was able to stop before the sign.
